In Summer’s Harbour, we had to escape the ice more than a couple of times… pretty ironic.☀️🧊
Drifting ice in the bay is no joke — it’s a real threat to the hull, and getting the anchor caught would be less than ideal.
Our second night, we woke up to ice pressed against our port side, with a tongue that stretched all the way under the boat and out the starboard side. Luckily, the anchor held safely, and no damage was done. After that, we stuck to night watches — 1.5 hour rotations, eyes peeled.
