Yesterday the One Ocean crew rounded Cape Horn from east to west, a major accomplishment for this team after 10 months and over 16,500 nautical miles. For most of the crew, this was our first rounding, but our Captain Mark Schrader tallied his FOURTH rounding of this often treacherous cape. We got lucky with weather and were even able to get our spinnaker up, displaying North and South America: ONE ISLAND that is connected by ONE OCEAN. In 2010, the first Around the Americas crew flew their AtA spinnaker, so we were happy to keep that “tradition” going. Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way and made this incredible feat possible.
The journey is not over yet! We have pointed our bow north and still have an adventure ahead as we make our way back to Anacortes, Washington. Cheers! 🌎🌊
