On April 16, 2025, Bull Kelp was declared Washington State’s marine forest by House Bill 1631!
🌿So… why is this important?
Recognizing the vital role of bull kelp in ocean ecosystems is critical to the protection of the marine forest. This bill will promote stewardship and support conservation efforts of bull kelp in Washington State.
